OBSERVATION

This question was quite popular among the candidates.  In 2(a)(i), most of the candidates were able to state two advantages of using the machine illustrated in diagram A (Tractor) on the farm.  But in 2(a)(ii-iii), most of the candidates could neither name the part of the machine to which implements are coupled nor state two daily maintenance practices carried out on the machine illustrated in diagram A (Tractor).  However, in 2(a)(iv), majority of the candidates could list four implements that can be coupled to the machine. Further to this, majority of the candidates could name the parts labeled A, B, C, D and E as required in 2(b)(i).  Most of them could also state one function of each of the parts labeled A, B and D.
The expected answers include:
2(a)(ii)Part of the machine to which implements are coupled

  • The three-point-linkage

(iii)Daily maintenance practices carried out on machine illustrated in diagram A.
