(b) In what two ways was this event significant to Israel?

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Observation

Few candidates who attempted this question did not do welI. Majority of them wasted their time by stating the narration from the ten plagues and so could not have enough time to mention the real points. Points like:

(i) the sending of pillar of cloud to protect them;
(ii) assurance of God defence;
(iii) the clogging of the wheel's of their chariots.

And in part ‘b’ they failed to mention point of significance as

(i) it was a miracle of deliverance;
(ii) Israelites became a people of covenant;
(ill) it was a way of uniting them together.
The answer was to start from where Pharaoh learnt of the escape of the Israelites from Egypt up to the time when the Egyptians were drowned in the Red Sea.
