Observation

This question was popular among candidates. A vast number of candidates performed above average in this question. However, it was noticed that candidates gave their own interpretation and version of what they understood responsible citizenship to mean as compared to how Peter put it in the Bible. Candidates were expected to list out the points as detailed below;

    1. According to Peter, a good citizen should be subject to every human institution for God’s sake.
    2. This could be the emperor or the governor.
    3. Peter states that the people in authority have been appointed by God to punish wrong doers and reward those who do right.
    4. Peter stressed that the behavior of good citizens would put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.
    5. He said Christians who are good citizens have been liberated from the curse of the law.
    6. Hence, they should live as free men but should not use their freedom as a pretext for evil.
    7. Instead, they should live as obedient servants of God.
    8. They should also respect everyone.
    9. They should love the brotherhood.
    10. Furthermore, the good citizens should fear God.
    11. And finally, the good citizens should honour the emperor and all rulers.
    12. Just as Christ suffered unjustly for us, leading as example for us to follow
    13. Though Christ committed no sin, when condemned, he did not fight back
    14. Rather, he trusted God who is a fair Judge
    15. He gave us salvation by allowing himself to be crucified on the cross on our behalf
    16. To this end, through his agony and crucifixion, we are saved
    17. We once went astray like sheep but have now returned to the Lord
