The following shortcomings were observed in candidates’ responses to the questions:

-           inability to draw good sketches;
-           mixing up of uses of some given tools;
-           inability to state the reasons why machine maintenance is important.

To overcome these weaknesses, candidate should be:

-           given more assignments that will expose them to the areas listed above.
-           made to visit standard workshops.
