.The candidates were found wanting in their:

1. capability of the interpretation of the measuring instruments’ readings;
2. familiarity with basic unit of quantity being measured;
3. bad soldering which may have contributed to incorrect readings as reported;
4. setting of the potentiometer reportedly to have been responsible for the wrong readings.

     Suggested Remedies
 It was suggested that candidates for the Electronics paper should be     exposed to laboratory experiments.
