The passages offered familiar subject matters with choice of words that were
appropriate and within the ability of the candidates. The questions were not ambiguous
and the lexical items had many options.

OBSERVATION

In spite of all these, many candidates appeared to have problems with Question 6(a)
which demanded for the irony in the passage. As for Question 7, many candidates could
not give correct answers to questions 7(c) which demanded for the writer's attitude and
7(e) which was on grammatical name and function.
