The candidate is required to write an article for publication in a national newspaper on the importance of education to national development. This was the least popular question. It demands that the candidate show a clear understanding of what is meant by ‘national development’. He is then expected to link that with education, that is, show what role it plays in national development.

 Many candidates who attempted the question failed to show that education is the pivot on which the development of a nation depends.
