WEAKNESS/REMEDIES

The following weaknesses were noticeable on the candidates’ scripts:

(1)        Non Adherence to Rubrics

Candidates were expected to answer question (1) and any three other questions.  Some of them did not answer question (1).  Also, where diagrams were required in an explanation, some of them did not draw the diagrams so as to substantiate their points.

            (2)        Inability to make Comparison

Some candidates have not mastered  the act of making comparison using  comparative words like “whereas” or “while”.  Rather, they explained part of the required comparison and left the other part unexplained.

            (3)        Poor Expressions

Some of the candidates presented their points in poor language.

            (4)        Inadequate Preparations for the Examination

Some of the candidates did not fully cover the syllabus before the start of the examination.

            (5)        Listing of Points without Explanations

Many of the candidates merely listed the points that are answers to the questions without giving the required explanations. This made them to lose precious marks
