Observation

This question was not popular among the candidates. Of the few candidates who attempted it, majority could not draw good outline map of Africa, and hence, could not show and name the Equatorial rain forest, the Tropical grassland and a town in each of those belts. The (b) aspect of the question was well handled by majority of the candidates who answered the question except that the under listed points were not commonly mentioned by the candidates.

- layer arrangement of vegetation
- trees have buttress roots
- trees have thin barks
- trees have few branches
- trees have broad leaves

Most candidates who answered the question were able to state the ways in which Tropical rain forest vegetation are of economic importance and those of them who substantiated their answers with adequate explanations were able to score good marks.
