This question was not too popular among the candidates because of map work.  Quite a    good number of those who answered the question lost marks in the (a) aspect of the          question because they produced  poor map outline.  The characteristics of rivers in          Nigeria and benefits of Kainji Lake were well attempted by the candidates.  Some of the        candidates however highlighted the importance of Kainji Dam and not Kainji Lake.  The      expected answers include:

            -           source of water for domestic use;
            -           source of water for industrial use;
            -           source of food e.g. fish, crocodiles;
            -           source of water for livestock farming;
            -           habitat for aquatic life e.g. crocodiles, crabs etc.
            -           recreation;
            -           transportation;
            -           centre of educational research;
            -           HEP generation;
            -           supplies of water for irrigation;
            -           tourism.
