(1) Inadequate Preparation
Some candidates did not prepare fully for the examination as evidenced by the scanty presentation of points. Some candidates did not read the factors that accounted for the world rapid population growth. Thus, they were writing on factors that influence population distribution.
(2) Mere listing of points
Some candidates merely listed points that were answers to the questions when full explanations were required from them. Answers to most Geography questions require fuller explanations than just mere listing of points.
(3) Poor map illustrations
Some candidates drew very poor maps that had no keys. The required features were also not properly located, probably because of the poor map outlines.
(4) Misinterpretation of questions
Some candidates misinterpreted some questions, for instance, rather than specifying the characteristics of rivers in Nigeria, some candidates were writing on uses of rivers.
