The marking scheme was exhaustive and flexible. The performance of the candidates was slightly poorer than that of the previous year given the mean score of25 and standard deviation of 14.00 for the candidate population of 20,990 as against the mean score of 27 and standard deviation of 16.25 for the May/June 2007 WASSCE with a candidature of 18,568.
