The standard of this paper compared favourably with those of the previous years. The rubrics were clear and the questions were to the point. The marking scheme was also detailed and covered all aspects of the questions.
Candidates’ performance was better than that of last year when the syllabus was firstly introduced. This could be attributed to the fact that the teachers and their students are now getting familiar with the new syllabus. They would also have had more time to read the prescribed texts.
