Candidates’ weaknesses were observed in questions under Qur'an and Hadith.
This was simply because it involved writing of some texts in Arabic or transliteration. This major weakness over the years, is a pointer to the fact that Arabic literacy is deficient in students of Islamic Studies. It is therefore suggested that teachers of Islamic Studies should take their time to concentrate on this aspect as it affects the two sections mentioned above.
Also, teachers of Islamic Studies are implored to teach comprehensively within the content of the syllabus. Students on their own side should not take the subject with levity. Instead, they should take it as a compulsory subject which they must pass and therefore study more to ensure great success.
