The candidates were required to examine the contributions of Ali b.Abi Talib to Islam. This question was not too popular but was within the knowledge of the candidates as the question was on a topic listed in the syllabus. Candidates who attempted this question laid more emphasis on Ali’s relationship with the prophet (S.A.W) rather than pointing out salient contributions such as being the first youth to embrace Islam and his participation in many battles against the pagans. By and large, candidates’ performance here was not too bad.
