The candidates were not able to show through their answers, that they have actually studied the prescribed texts.
Poor command of the English Language limited the candidates’ scope of understanding of the demands of the questions.
All the above points coupled with poor handwriting made it impossible for candidates to buttress their points with echoes from the texts as expected of students of Literature.
Candidates should endeavour to study the texts and strive to improve on their knowledge of the English Language.Stakeholders in education should reiterate the importance of studying selected texts in preparation for examinations.
Qualified teachers should be allowed to prepare candidates for examinations.
