Weakness/Remedies

Most of the answers the candidates proffered were irrelevant to the questions because they merely narrated stories. It was obvious that such candidates did not understand what was required of them in the questions.

In other cases, it was clear that the vague knowledge which some of the candidates exhibited, was acquired from abridged texts or keynotes.

(3)      Suggested Remedies

  1.  Candidates should endeavour to buy all the prescribed texts and study them thoroughly.
  2. Qualified teachers should be employed to teach Literature-In-English in schools.
Candidates should be discouraged from relying on mere summary texts or keynotes in preparation for the examination.
