Candidates lacked the knowledge of the qualities of a good singing, the terms, signs/symbols associated with strings family. Furthermore, they lacked the knowledge of the components of the piano, the names of organ manual, foundation and mutation stops. Candidates also found it difficult to state the techniques of holding and blowing the Recorder

Candidates should read more books on music and they should also endeavour to take practical music lesson before taking major examinations in the future. They need to familiarise themselves with the signs and symbols used in the strings family of instrument. This will get them adequately grounded in theory and practice of music.
