This question was attempted by few candidates and their performance was poor.  In part (a)(i) candidates correctly mentioned equipment used in volleyball game, in (a)(ii) candidates could not correctly state duties of the scorer in volleyball match.  In part (b) candidates could not correctly explain the following terms as used in the game of hockey: penalty corner, back skick and field palyer. In part (c) candidates correctly listed skills in handball game.

 

However, the expected answers were as follows:
5(a)   (i)     Equipment used in volleyball game

• ball
• jersey/vest and short/sports wear
• canvas/sporting shoe
• whistle
• net
• antennae

          (ii)    Duties of scorer in volleyball match

• he records the number substituted players           
• he records the  names of the captains and coaches of the team
• he records the number of substitution of each team        
• he furnishes the referee with relevant information as the need arises/explained
• he records number and name of libero player
• he receives from captains or coaches the team list  of the players in the court
• he indicates/announces the correct score
• he keeps the record book.
• he notifies the refree on violation of the rotation/serving order

    (b)    Explaining  terms as used in the game of hockey
            (i)         Penalty corner
A hit awarded for an offence by a defender in the circle                                                                                 
(ii)        Back stick
                        This is when the ball is hit by the wrong side of the stick                                         
(iii)       Field Player
                        Any player on the field of play apart from the goalkeeper.                                                   
(c)        Skills in handball game
