Some of the weaknesses observed in the candidates’ scripts were

• Wrong placement of Shorthand outlines which made it hard for them to transcribe what they jolted down.
• Poor spellings and wrong use of words
• Writing of dictated passages in longhand instead of shorthand.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES
-           Theory of shorthand should be taught and learnt by the candidates so as to improve on the placement of shorthand outlines
-           Candidates should focus on drilling with the use of short forms, phrases and contractions in Shorthand so as to improve their speed.
-           Candidates should also improve on their spelling and usage of English Language so as to avoid many grammatical errors.
