(d)(i)Make a pictorial sketch of a drawer lock.
(iii)Label any two parts of the drawer lock.

Observation

Most candidates were able to :

-define the two terms given correctly;
-state two methods of applying wood preservatives.
However, they did not sketch the drawer lock correctly. The expected response to question 3 is as given below:

(a)Definition of terms

(i)Defect in timber
It is any irregularity occurring in or on timber that reduces its quality, durability and utility value.

Or
It is any condition that lowers the quality or value of timber.
(ii)Green timber
or
It is unseasoned timber or freshly cut timber
Or
It is converted timber whose moisture content has not been reduced.
