The standard of the paper compared favourably with those of previous years. Clarity of the rubrics and flexibility of the marking scheme were maintained. The questions were clearly itemized, unambiguous and easily comprehensible.
The performance of the candidates was lower than that of the previous year. The candidates’ population of 229,891 had a raw mean score of 28 and a standard deviation of 14.42 as against a raw mean score of 32 and a standard deviation of 14 recorded in the November/December 2010 WASSCE with candidature of 181,354.
