The standard of Biology Papers was high and compared favourably with previous years. The questions were straightforward, properly framed and chosen from a wide range of the syllabus. The marking scheme was exhaustive and flexible.
There was significant improvement in the general performance of the candidates when compared with the performance of last year. The raw mean score of 25 and the standard deviation of 10.30 were recorded this year compared to the mean score of 16 and standard deviation of 09.06 in May/June 2012 WASSCE. The total population of candidates that sat for this examination was 1,645,047.
