The standard of the paper was high and compared favourably with those of previous years. The
questions were unambiguous and within the scope of the syllabus. The marking scheme was
exhaustive and flexible, however the performance of the candidates was slightly poorer than that
of the previous year with a mean score of 18 and a standard deviation of 08.54 compared with a
mean score of 21 and a standard deviation of 11.58 for the Nov/Dec, 2009 WASSCE.
