This was another popular question probably because it contained two nearly equal parts which gave the candidates wider scope of scoring good marks. Most of the candidates actually did very well as they not only mentioned the points required, but also discussed the points fairly well. The overall candidates’ performance in the question was very good.
The candidates identified some of the following points to score good marks:
(a) - provision of food;
- major employer of labour;
- foreign exchange earner;
- source of revenue to government, etc.
(b) - improvement of infrasturctural facilities;
- provision of credit facilities;
- protection from foreign competition;
- establishment of marketing boards, etc.
