Many candidates were poorly prepared for ~he examination. As
reported by the Chief Examiner, it appeared that candidates were
unable to handle questions other than the simple 'recall' variety. The
fact that only a few of the candidates could correctly respond to the
question on combinational logic and explain 'open loop' control
suggests that the topic may not be popular with instructors/candidates
did not have competent instructors or candidates were not given
adequate instructor support in their preparations
Suggested Remedies
The obvious remedy reported for this recurring weakness is good
preparation under the supervision of seasoned instructor.
