OBSERVATION

This question on experimental cookery was not popular among the candidates at all as many of them failed to attempt the question. The very few that attempted the question gave poor response as they could not interprete the question.

The candidates were expected to answer as follows:

  1.       Sources of Information
    1. market women
    2. school children
    3. staff of various establishment
    4. traders
    5. travellers
    6. drivers
    7. dieticians
    8. caterers
    9. cookery books, recipe books
    10. magazines, newspapers, journals
  1.       Types of Information Required to Prepare a New Recipe
    1. various local dishes and drinks taken by people in different parts of a country or tribes.
    2. various methods of preparation
    3. recipe required for each type
    4. sources of the ingredients
    5. special local dishes and drinks of people in different physiological conditions.

(c)        Guidelines for Writing a New Recipe

    1. the name of the dish
    2. list of ingredients with quantity
    3. method of preparation
    4. modification that makes it new and unique.
