(1)   Most of the candidates did not answer the  question ouverte of Listening    
       Comprehension.
(2)  Some of the candidates could not express  themselves properly in Conversation     
       test due to lack of vocabulary. Some of  them could not distinguish between 
      Comment  vas-tu? and Comment tu t’appelle? Some  answered Exposition 
questions in English  Language.
     (3)   In the Reading segment, most of the candidates could not read the  passages well.    
           French words that looked like  English words were pronounced with English 
          pronunciation eg. Portable,
    population, accès,
   ressource,  contamination, 
   famille  etc.
  Most  of them found it difficult to pronounce words like; 
 écoliers, qualité, 
dangereuse,  Malheureusement,
 obligés typhoïde. 
                          
                         The rule of liaison was not observed where  necessary
                        .          SUGGESTIONS  FOR IMPROVEMENT
                        (1)     Teachers of French should practice all  aspects of Oral French with the students 
           before the examination. They should  also drill the students more on question    
           ouverte.
                          (2)    Teachers should encourage the students to  give their responses in French during 
          classes. They should expose the  students to more drills on spoken French.
                          (3)   They should be more involved in the teaching  of the basic grammatical rules at each 
          lesson.
                          (4)   They should encourage the students to read  French novels and journals to acquire 
          more vocabulary.
