Candidates had difficulty in answering questions on sound system as well as other aspects of oral and written literature of the paper. Their poor performance could be attributed to lack of qualified teachers as well as inadequate study of the texts by the candidates and the poor handwriting and expression.
REMEDY.
- Seminars and Workshops should be organised by the respective State Ministries of Education for Hausa teachers in areas of phonetics and phonology as well as the grammar aspect to acquaint them with the topics.
- Teachers should encourage candidates to develop the habbit of reading culture
- Candidates should be advised to always write legibly for easy understanding by the examiners
- Qualified teachers should always be employed by the State Ministries of Education and the existing ones be allowed to go on in service training to update their knowledge.
