The standard of the paper compared favourably with those of previous years. The rubrics were clear and the questions were straightforward and of good quality. The questions achieved good coverage of the syllabus.  

The performance of the candidates was better than that of the previous year given the raw mean score of 29 and standard deviation of 14.63 for the candidate population of 20,527 as against the raw mean score of 25 and standard deviation of 14.00 for the candidate population of 20,990 for May/June 2008 WASSCE.
