In Clothing & Textiles, the candidates’ weaknesses were on questions 1a, 2 and 3 which were on description of the microscopic appearance of cotton, linen, rayon, wool, method used for identifying cotton fibre, advantages of nylon, examples of nylon fabric available in the West African market, factors that necessitate extra amount of fabrics in clothing construction, set - in sleeve and a raglan sleeve, ways of finishing the edge of a raglan sleeve and uses of sleeves. They did not answer questions that had to do with diagrams well.
In Foods & Nutrition, the candidates’ general weaknesses are the candidates’ inability to interpret some questions correctly, they could not express themselves in simple and correct English, spellings of some Foods and Nutrition terminologies were wrongly spelt.
In Home Management, most candidates could not comprehend some questions and could not spell words correctly. The candidates’ weakness also include questions in the steps in laundry, definition, causes, treatment of nappy rash and step by step instruction on how to prepare a budget.
