- Candidates were asked to write on an excursion they participated in with their school mates in another state. The few candidates that attempted this, did well but failed to write up to the required length.
- Candidates were required to write a story that ends with this proverb: ‘A blind snail denies itself of food’. Fewer attempts were made on this question.
- Candidates were expected to write in a dialogue form, the discussion that two persons had concerning the condition they saw their friend in when they visited him/her in the hospital.
Some of the candidates that attempted this question wrote it in such a way that only one person visited and was telling the other what she/he saw instead of them discussing it as people that went together.
