Candidates’ weaknesses as usual were glaring and conspicuous in questions set on the Quran on d Hadith.  Such weaknesses, among others, were observed in
A. their illegible Arabic handwriting,
B. spelling errors committed by writing in Arabic or in transliteration.

RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTED REMEDIES

It has been observed that candidates better performance in Islamic studies can be enhanced through adequate teaching of syllabus contents with much more concentration on selected Quranic chapters and ahadith which candidates usually stylistically avoid.  Also, recommendations in previous Chief Examiners’ Reports should be utilized by both teachers and students for better impartation of knowledge in a good teacher – student class interaction.
