Rather than tackling the question headlong, many candidates narrowed down the answer(s) to pigment only leaving the ideas of rays of light passing through a prison, light as a spectrum colour.
In the (b) part, candidates failed to interprete the question well. They were expected to explain how the rays of light reflection objects and how other rays are absorbed. Instead, they listed types of colours and how they are made from natural materials. This denied them of the marks obtainable.
