The standard of the paper compared favourably with those of previous years. Clarity of the rubrics and flexibility of the marking scheme were maintained. The questions were clearly itemized, unambiguous and easily comprehensible.
The performance of the candidates was slightly higher than that of the previous year. The candidate population of 214,277 had a raw mean score of 21 and a standard deviation of 11.87 as against a raw mean score of 20 and a standard deviation of 13.42 recorded in the November/December 2007 WASSCE with candidature of 231,146.
