Candidates’ Weaknesses

Some candidates’ inability to read questions carefully enough culminated in them limiting their answers to recall when the question asked for definitions or explanations.  Some candidates did not use the correct units in their answers as demanded by the questions.

Suggested Remedies
It should be noted that the challenges in this paper need some global attention/solution.  The following are suggested remedies:

1. providing qualified and experienced teachers who are interested and committed to their work;
2. relevant authorities should make students’ performance a critical criterion in the assessment of teachers;
3. teachers of this subject should be remunerated adequately;
4. provision of adequate equipment and materials for the students to work with.
