The following weaknesses were observed from the candidates’ work:
- inability to represent graphically, the reinforced concrete flat roof in conjuction with the pitched timber roof, both in section and elevation;
- difficulty in labelling and dimensioning the key elements of the building;
- failure to indicate on plan, the position of doors using the appropriate conventional symbols.

To overcome these weaknesses, candidates should be taught on the :

• types of roof and their construction methods;
• proper method of labelling and dimensioning of building elements;
• conventional symbols used to represent different types of door in plan.
