Candidates were weak in the use of the French verbs.  A lot of them did not know how to conjugate verbs even in the present tense.  The verbs  were wrongly conjugated and used.

Some of them did not know the difference between ‘et’ and ‘est’.
Most of the candidates could not use the  articles, genders, singulars and plurals correctly.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES

Teachers should ensure that the students are well drilled in French verbs.  They should lay more emphasis on genders, use of articles, singulars and plurals.  They should encourage the students to read French novels and magazines in order to acquire more vocabulary.
