Candidates' weakness

Candidates’ weaknesses were observed in the following areas:

1.       Content  -  Some candidates were unable to write the essay up to the
required number of words. i.e. 300 words, which earned them low marks in the essay.
2.       Mechanical Accuracy  -  Spelling errors were rampant in their essays and grammar.  Most of them did not write with the official orthography.
3.       Literature  -  Some candidates found it difficult to answer questions on the literature aspect . It was obvious from the performance of the candidates that many of them did not read the prescribed textbooks, therefore they resorted to guess-work in answering the questions.

In general, students should endeavour to prepare themselves well in readiness for the examination by buying and reading prescribed books and also study Igbo books that will build-up their written Igbo.
