Question 4 (a) (i) Name the tool used to finish a thread after it has been cut on the lathe. (ii) Explain the term draft on a pattern. (b (i) What is a self-secured joint? (ii) State two advantages of a self-secured joint. (c) With the aid of a sketch, describe in four steps how a lapped joint can be soldered.

OBSERVATION
This question attracted most of the candidates. However, the candidates could not provided the required response to part (a) (ii) of the question. The required responses to part (a) (ii) of the question is: Draft on a pattern is the vertical allowance that allows easy removal of the pattern from the mould.
