The weaknesses identified in candidates' performance are:
(1)Inadequate preparation for the examination; they did not procure the set-pieces required nor even study the syllabus to know the demand of the questions.
(2)Poor teaching and learning processes caused by lack of qualified teachers and lack of seriousness on the part of the students.
(3)Non-adherence to instructions where candidates answered more than the required questions or out-riqht'y avoided the compulsory questions.                  
(4)Inability to interpret the questions correctly which resulted in wrong answers. In order to overcome the above weaknesses, candidates are advised to prepare adequately for the examinations;
learn correctly from qualified music teachers;
adhere strictly to instructions;
read the questions and understand them before attempting them.
