The identified weaknesses of the candidates included the following:
                          - lack of understanding of the fundamentals of the course
-language barrier – candidates could not express themselves freely hence
                          they resorted to memorization
                          -  inability to take precise measurement to required accuracy
                          -inability to plot graphs correctly
-disregard of instruction – some candidates carried out processes preconceived before the examination and thus missed marks.
The suggested remedies were as follows:
-physics teachers should be encouraged to attend coordination meetings and view it as seminar/workshop to enhance their performances.
                          - candidates should be exposed to real practical work early enough.
-physics laboratories should be well equipped
                          - students should be taught how to plot graphs involving decimal numbers, large figures and how to make deductions from graphs.
