CANDIDATES' weakness

• Some of the weaknesses observed in the candidates' scripts included:
• poor spelling and wrong use of words
• wrong placement of Shorthand outlines which made it difficult for them to
  transcribe what they had written.
• writing of dictated passages in longhand instead of Shorthand.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES

• The candidates should concentrate more on drilling, with the use of short
  forms, phrases and contractions in shorthand so as to improve their speed.
• Theory of shorthand should be taught and learnt so as to improve on
  correct placement of outlines.
• The candidates should also improve on their spelling and usage of English
  Language so as to avoid many grammatical errors.
