(A) WEAKNESSES:
Some of the weaknesses observed among the candidates includes:
- inadequate preparation for the examination in shorthand have they
could not cope with the required dictation speed.
- poor spelling and wrong use of words
- wrong placement of shorthand outlines which made it difficult for them to transcribe what they had written
- taking of dictated passages in longhand instead of shorthand.

(B) SUGGESTED REMEDIES
-The candidates should concentrate more on drilling, the use of short forms, phrases and contractions in shorthand so as to improve their speed.
- The theory of shorthand should taught and learnt so as to improve on placement of outlines
- Furthermore, the candidates should improve on their spelling and usage of English language so as to avoid many grammatical errors.
