(a)       The views of a component are shown below.
                        Construct, full size, the isometric view, making face F the lowest.                     

(b)       Construct a square which is equal in area to a rectangle whose sides are 30 and 80.

OBSERVATION

Candidates were expected to:

  1. construct isometric view from orthographic projection;
  2. have knowledge of isometric circles and curves;
  3. have knowledge of isometric axes and principles;
  4. use isometric axes;
  5. draw isometric box (128 x 64 x 64);
  6. draw all possible faces.

(b)       Constructing a square equal in Area to a Rectangle

                        Candidates were expected to:

  1. draw correctly the rectangle FGHJ (30 X 80);
  2. extend line FG;
  3. make line GM equal to line GH;
  4. bisect line FM;
  5. construct semi-circle on FM;
  6. extend line GH to intersect the circumference at point N;
  7. construct the square GNPQ.
