Observation

Most candidates skipped this question. It was believed, therefore, that they found the question very difficult.

Solution

The solution of the entire question is as given below.

(a)        The total number of items bought = 1 + 5 + 2 + 3 = 11

(b)        Amount spent on the purchase of:
(i) torque wrench = N 55,000 x  1 = N 55,000

                        (ii) twist bits = N 800 x 5 = N 4,000

                        (iii) feeler gauge = N 4,000 x 2 = N 8,000

                        (iv) torch = N 1,000 x 3 = N 3,000

            (c)        The amount spent on the purchase = 55,000 + 4000 + 8000 + 3000 = N 70,000

(d)    The operation doable with:
(i)   torque wrench:  tightening
(ii)  twist bit:  drilling
(iii) feeler gauge:  measurement.
