Weakness and Remedies

 

The candidates were weak in:

• interpretation of working drawings;
• cutting of dovetail joint at an inclination;
• practical lesson.

To overcome these weaknesses, candidates should be taught continuously on how to interprete working drawings, should be provided with special tools such as spoke shave planes, rebate etc. also the need to prepare the materials to the given specifications should be emphasized by their teachers. It is therefore recommended that the schools should improve their efforts in making sure that practical lessons are done alongside the theory. Finally, students should be given opportunity to go for excursion in a large woodwork shops and construction sites
