Observation

The candidates were required to read the passage which was within their range and on a contemporary topic – armed robbery. The responses of candidates, however, were not impressive.  Despite the simple, straightforward summary passage, many candidates were still unable to summarize properly. However, candidates’ inability to identify topic sentences and poor vocabulary affected their responses. Some candidates copied copiously from the passage.
