Observation

 

 

The question was attempted by few candidates whose performance was poor. The candidates were expected to write the following points as answers to the question:

(a (i)     M        -              Rewind crank/knob/camera back release.          
(ii)        N         -           Pentaprism housing.                                        
(iii)       O         -           Aperture ring.                                                  
(iv)       P          -           Focusing ring.                                                 
(v)        Q         -           Shutter release button.                                     
(vi)       R         -           Film advance lever.                                         
(vii)      S          -           Shutter speed dial.                                           
(viii)     T          -           Hot shoe.                                                                    

(b)        Rewind crank/knob lever
-           Used to transport exposed/used film back into the cartridge/cassette.
-           Used to tighten film after loading.
-           Opens camera back when pulled up.
Pentaprism housing
-           It houses or accommodates the five-sided pentaprism.
Aperture ring
-           A part of a lens that controls the aperture/used to set the aperture.
Focusing ring
-           A part of the lens that can be adjusted to attain image sharpness.
Shutter release button
-           A button on the camera that is pressed to enable film exposure to light.
Film advance lever
-           The part of the camera that is used to transport unexposed film from one frame
to the next.
Shutter speed/Camera speed dial
-           A device that sets the shutter/camera speed during exposure.
Hot shoe
-           A mounting point on the camera that holds external flash/slave unit and some other compatible accessories firmly and for it to be electronically connected (synchronization).

(c)        -      Load away from direct sunlight.
-      Handle the film with care to avoid scratches.
-      Ensure that the film tongue is properly attached to the sprocket.
-      After loading ensure that the camera back is firmly or tightly closed.
-      Make sure the film advance lever is turned until the film is tensioned.
-      Do not load in a dusty environment or inside the rain.
