This question was very popular with the candidates. In 8(a), majority of the candidates could give the
advantages and disadvantages of the deep litter system of poultry management.

Further to this, in 8(b )(i and ii), majority of the candidates were able to state the reasons for carrying out
animal husbandry practices such as castration of goats and creep feeding of pigs. Similarly, in 8(c),
majority of the candidates could name the local breeds of cattle reared in West Africa.
